Tour Itinerary Highlights: It's a 2-hour car ride from Chengdu to Leshan, but believe us when we say that you will not regret making the trip. Leshan Giant Buddha is the tallest stone Buddha in the world (ironically the buddha is sitting) and the experience of seeing it can hardly be described with words. (its smallest toenail is large enough to accomodate a seated person) Construction was started in 713 AD, led by a monk Haitong, and finished approx. 90 years later by his disciples (and faithfuls). We will first "view" the Buddha on foot, and after lunch and a brief visit to Lingyun Temple, board a vessel and view it in its entirety from the river. - Transportation, 1 meal included.
